I am going on April 30th for a  re-check to see  if my CA-125 is still high.  I would like to hear from anyone who has had this many re- occurances.  I think this is a special group and we should let our voices be heard, that there is hope!  I had my first in May, 1987.The nausea conected to chemo has  been controlled by zofran and E-mend.  I sit there and have my lunch during chemo. . I hope that the   CA-125 and cat scan becomes as routine as a mamogram.

You are a real winner to have survived this for so many years.  It gives me hope.  I'm interested in what chemos you have been on, how long you have been able to go without chemo, and what your CA12 is.  I would dearly love to have a break from chemo, but don't think it will happen soon.

Thanks for giving us all hope.

Gayle

Do you know if you are BRCA1 or BRCA2 positive? I am also interested in your chemotherapy history. 22 years is a long time to survive ovarian cancer. What stage are you? Do you eat healthy? Exercise? How do YOU think you have survived so long? Thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions. I will be patient as I know you are busy with life.

Sincerely,

Lynne

My mother has fought this beast for 20 years. Sadly she's currently fighting her last battle, but she had several recurrences throughout the years and always (until now) managed to bounce back quickly after surgery/chemotherapy/radiation. After a while, all the chemotherapy, radiation, etc did seem rather routine. One positive effect of all this has been that the grandchildren have grown up not really fearing hospitals and doctors. They also see cancer as something that you fight like hell and don't ever give up.  Keep up the good fight!!!!!
