My 82 year old mother was diagnosed with Stage IV NSCLC in September 2008.  She was put on Tarceva, which seemed to be working through her first two Petscans.  However, her third Petscan showed some increased activity, so her oncologist has switched her to Alitma/Avastin infusions every 3 weeks.I have heard that some oncologists will not prescribe Avastin to anyone over 70 years old.  Is anyone out there on Avastin who is over 70 years old?  If so, I would like to hear how you are handling it and what side effects you are experiencing.Thanks very much,Robert RobbyJ Fri, 24 Apr 2009 00:00:00 GMT
