Is anyone on "matience chem? I just finished 21 weeks of avastin and taxol every monday and now I am doing taxol and avastin every 21 days as a matience dose, is anyone doing something different. The avastin costs 37,000 a dose here at Providence in anchorage and at that rate will use upp all my insurance within 3 years. I think its sinful they get away with charging that nuch.I would appreaciate any feedback on matience.

I was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer in Jan 07...I've been on chemo almost nonstop for 2 1/2 years, my doc now wants to put me on Avastin and Cytoxan.  He more or less told me this would be indefinite.  How well do you tolerate the Avastin?  The Cytoxan will be oral, and the Avastin IV.  Does it work for you?  the doc says I'll be on maintenance drugs probably for the rest of my life...  this sh*& won't go away.  Most of the drugs to fight cancer are outrageous, my Neulasta shot costs over 3,000.00 and the chemo is right up there too..

Have you had good luck with the combination?  I'm hoping for the best with the Avastin, there are a lot of side effects that scare me.  But then the side effects with the chemo aren't very nice either.

I wish you all the best, keep fighting.....someday soon there will be an answer.
