nana in end stages of her life

Hey.

I have posted a message on here before about five months ago when my Nana was diagnosed with bladder cancer which was confined to the organ.

In the middle of February she started treatment (why did it take six months for her to start actually getting treatment in the first place?) and after one week she was very unwell. When she got home she could barely move, and just slept all day. She was admitted into hospital because of pneumonia that she had developed, and then a bone scane showed that the cancer had spread to the bones. i had a look on my computer at the bone scan and there were hot spots everywhere.

After receiving some pain relieving radiation treatment, she returned home, and soon to a resthome, because the family was struggling to be able to meet her every need day and night.

We have been told many time frames, but i know people with have cancer that is that far advanced only have a few months by the sound of it..

In the last week she has gone downhill so much. I visited her on Tuesday and she was sitting up trying to eat, and the next day she was having a really bad day, in a lot of pain. They keep upping the amount of morphine that she is on, and today she is so far away with the fairies. They have put a push pump in her arm for the morphine so she doesnt have to take any pills, as she cannot swallow very well anymore. My mother and I know that the end is in sight, but I am struggling to understand what is going to happen next or what is actually happening now. my nana is not responsive at all other than a very quiet mutter if she is in pain, which no1 can understand.

I am only 19 years old and have not ever lost anyone close to me before.

I keep wondering how I am going to deal with the loss of my special Nana, we have always been very close to each other.

Can anyone shed some light on what will happen next or what kind of time frame we are looking at? Docter said perhaps a few days, my mums best friend who is a nurse said perhaps 24/48 hours, but im not even sure if she will last the night.

Thanks everyone
