In 2 month I went for chemo therapy treatment with 5FU and in 3 weeks I hade huge side effects. After such side effects I discontinue chemo. He was making CT scans and Pat scans every 6 or 8 month and in January 2009 CT scan shows some abnormality in stomach and liver area. I was living with my daughter in Australia and his tumor marker CA 19.9 was 4.326 but after CT scan results Hi is back to New York and did some more CT scan and biopsy of liver in MSK. As of today Hi is in good health. in February his CA 19.9 was 5.120. My father started chemotherapy April 2nd in New York with Dr. Howard W. Bruckner M.D. Some people on cancer compass said very good things about this doctor, so my father on chemo 2 days for 5 hours than 2 weeks off, tomorrow his 3rd time but after we came to Dr. Bruckner his Tumor marker went up to 8.000 after 2 weeks 9.343 and today we got his last CA 19.9 and it is 15.129 very high. We call doctor and ask for explanation, so hi saying that chemo maybe is not working for him and we need to increase the dose. My father on: Gemtar, Oxaliplatin, Taxotere and Avastin. Hi is on Hoxsey elixir could this be a problem? Almost no side effects, my question is his CA 19.9 that going up so fast could really means?
