Erbitux or Cisplatin

My husband and I met with the chemo Dr. yesterday and we were given an option. We needed to choose Erbitux or Cisplatin. Erbitux Chemo has no side effects, very unlike the Cisplatin. Can anyone tell me why anyone would choose Cisplatin over Erbitux?
