Gallbladder cancer with liver mets

My dad is 68 and was visiting me over the weekend and had pain under his right ribs.Went home Monday,Tuesday went to the Dr and Thursday the Doctor  called me to tell me my dad had probable cancer gall bladder with a very large tumor on the liver and also portal lymph involvement.My dad looks healthy, no jaundice, no weight loss and is being told it is inoperable.Is the common.Shouldn,t he be jaundiced or losing weight?We won't have biopsy results until the 7th of May but all the Dr's seem convinced......The CT scan showed necrosis with huge liver involvement.Whats the time frame someone can live with this cancer and feel good? Any help please..my sister and my mom and I are just trying to understand.My Dad's mom lives in a condo and is 89 years old.We haven't told her yet because we don't know what to say????

I suggest you collect your fathers records, including all diagnostics, and proceed to one of a handfull of centers. Johns Hopkins and MD Anderson are two of the finest. I personally just finished treatment at Hopkins and recieved absolutely stellar care in a state of the art hospital.
