Hi all,

Just found this website and reading up on Aldara cream. I was prescibed this by my oncologist/gyno 2 months ago after having 3 biopsies on and around my vulvar, After the last one it still came back showing that I was between VIN1 & Vin2 so my doc wanted me try Aldara thank god for medical insurance this stuff was $340.00 for a month supply. Anyways I was suppose to use it MON/WED/FRIDAY by the time i made it to Friday i was so swollen/red/and had these little sores that were so painful I stopped using it- I know my doc said this could happen and to just stop till it healed then try again- I just cant get myself to do it again. I compare the pain and soreness to same as when I had the biopsies. I havent called the doc yet to tell him but with all the things i have read on this stuff i am so scared to use it again.

But then i hear people that have had good turnouts using it, I dont know what to do now. is there any of you out there going thru the same as me. I am 49 which nowadays is not old lol......

thanks for listening.

I too have used the Aldara cream, and it did not work for me.  I did it for one month,(I know they say to do it much longer and they are saying now to do it only once a week or something). I was so sore and swollen, and I did breaks from it too, (loved the weekends)!  My dr. wanted to see me for a one month follow up after using the cream.  When I went in  she saw how raw I was, and told me to quit using it, they are going to do more biopsies next week.  She wanted to wait until I was a little more healed before she did the biopsies.  I work and train horses, and that is a little hard to do when I can't sit in a saddle.... so I couldn't work pretty much the entire time I was on the cream.

I have had two surgeries for the VIN111, and it looks as if I will be doing another, this time I guess its going to be more invasive, as it has spread outside of the Vulvar.

Good luck!

thanks for responding, I can not believe how many of us women have this VIN. Im just glad to find out im not the only one having trouble with the Aldara cream. Maybe if none of us worked we could use it but in the real world it is very hard to do this treatment and work at the same time, the sores and rawness cause soooooo much pain. I have made up my mind i will not use it again- some people have no idea how much using in down in your crotch area is so painful.....

Hi,I posted my daughters story and is under "hope is here".I just got back on the message board to post the results of my daughters biopsy and I saw your note and decided to reply to your note first. Please read my daughter's story, today we have received the news of her biopsy results and we are so joyful to hear that there is no dysplasia. The oncologist gynecologist is shocked by the results, she wants to see her again in one month but in my heart I know she is healed. Ok,now I am going to the general board and post the fantastic news. Good luck to you,and please look into the Bioresponse,do not go under the knife or the laser until you have tried it.My daughter has been taking it for just one month and the dysplasia is gone.Good luck,

Lina

I started itching about a year ago. At first I thought I had a yeast infection so I went and bought some Vagasil and tried it for the itching. And as you all well know who ever has had VIN 3 it is awful. So the first 16 weeks all i did was itch burning pain. So my husband thank god for him says your going to your doctor. So i went to my primary doctor. She gave me a pelvic and a swab test for yeast and some other thing's. In about a week the swab test came back negative. So she sent me to a GYN/ surgeon. I went and she try all kinds of creams and told me to stop using all frangrent soaps and lotions. So that's what I did and it still didnt get better. So she wanted to see me again and this time she did 2 biopsy's The results came back to be VIN 2. She wanted me to come back to do a bigger biopsy. So I went and she found a area that had changed from the last 2 weeks that i went to her. So she took a hugh biopsy and it came back VIN 3. So she say's i need surgery. she wants to do a laser surgery I have never had anything laser. So if any body out there has had it for this type please fill me in. So everybody hang in there we will all get though this together:)

I had VINIII surgically removed 11/07.  Please check out and hopefully try "DIM (3,3'diindolylmethane)" that has been posted on this site.  Surgery should be the last thing that we do.  There is a great chance that those of us that has had VIN run the risk of VIN reoccurring.  If or when it comes back I will try DIM first.

VINIII is a scary thing, just know that you are not alone.  :)

Carol,

I have looked everywhere around my area drug stores for the DIM but cannot find it, any idea where to buy this supplement. I sure would like to try and start using it before i have to go back next month for a recheck. I am not using the Aldara ever again I have tried 2x and cant function at work while on it.

thanks

Terrie
