Is anyone familiar with or better yet, been treated by Doctor Myers (oncologist). I've order his book and spoken with them on the phone about my dad. Here is a rather long exerpt from an interview with regards to the treatment plan he uses to treat PC. He is known to treat pt's with psa's in the 1000's  (my dad's is around 750 w/ bone met's). If you read his treatment plan it involves estradial and vit D. Any info would be helpful.

Dr Charles Myers is a Medical Oncologist, and nutrition expert who used radiation and hormonal therapy to treat his own high risk prostate cancer some years ago and has subsequently used hormone therapy for many of his patients.

As a Medical Oncologist, Dr Myers would have an objective approach as to the best treatment for each individual patient. He does not have "THE treatment plan" that he advocates for everyone.

For example, as you will read in his book, he said of his own situation, "So in my own case, how did I address this grievous situation and how did my experience alter how I approach treatment? "

I found his book "Beating Prostate Cancer: Hormonal Therapy & Diet" the most informative and comprehensive publication available on hormone treatment, which is why I always suggest it as essential reading for anyone who needs to consider hormone therapy.

Ok Ray, I'm all ears..... Please tell us how you reversed your bone met's? My dad's oncologist at the VA medical center said he was stopping the hormone therapy because it isn't working anymore. He suggested chemo,,but that'll kill him before the cancer and he's suffering enough. There's no quality of life there and I can see he's giving up.

I've had him on 5000mg vit D and 2000mg of vit C for at least 3 months now. Plus he takes Wobenzyme. There are no new bone met's since his last scan, but his PSA continues to rise (750 now). He has lost about 20-25lbs due to the associated nausea and vomiting from the narcatic drugs (fentanyl patches layered with vicoden and/or oxycodone) Of course the drugs cause associated constipation,so he takes another Rx for that. My dad is also a type 2 diabetic,so were limited with food consumption.

I myself am a firm believer in boosing the immune system and inquired to his doctor (whom I don't care for) about any immunotherapy clinical trials, but as I said, I can see my dad is losing all hope,so it is difficult to get him motivated, he is just existing at this point trying to manage/chasing the pain.....

Ray what was your highest PSA? And, was your bone met's found via a bone scan? Did you do any hormone therapy or chemo?

Best,

Cindy

Hi Cindy O you poor Dad, I can see your Dad been though a lot. I just know how he feels from what you told me he has not got Androgens (sex hormone) dependent cancer any more. So the treatment deferent I know this will help I’m an ex NS Australian ARMY 1972 intake for 15 years I had MECFS the treatment I’m on made me free of it now I have no bone cancer any more and my psa was 13 is now down to 9 and dropping it got to the stage I had urine retention I couldn’t pee well I had it in my bone my pibs and my lower back But right now . I never felt this well since I was a teenager. I feel all the supplement he’s taken is only slowing it down his cancer, hes  vitamin C and D3 is to low, I feel he should be on a much higher dose 150,000ui of vitamin d3 a day would be better. I know chemo works in 40% of cases with the vitamin D 3 it improves it potency I know the enzymes Wobenzyme. Removes the protein that the cancer cell uses for protection, (so dos vitamin D3 ) so the cancer can be attacked by chemo or the immune system. It Look like The prostrate cancer had changed from Androgens (sex hormone) dependent cancer to a none Androgens dependent cancer. Thats why the sex hormone therapy isn't working anymore the  three month cause of Cellular zeolite 15 drops 4 times a day I was on may help  his bone cancer it helped with me

There are  two things I know that will really help your Dad The first high dose iv vitamin C 50g http://intravenousvitaminc.blogspot.com/2008/03/doses-of-int

the reasion for the Intravenous vitamin C is we can only take in 5g of vitamin C at a time, this 5g dose is to low to do an efftive treatment of hes cancer and at the stage he’s at I would also recommend the Dr Budwig diet Im on as it will stop his secondary cancers Mets http://www.cancertutor.com/Cancer/Budwig.html

and help him feel better here how to make it

Hello again Ray,

I just flew back home from CA to PA. My dad is living with my sister there and I've been flying east to west coast ( 2500 miles) work permitting, every 3 weeks to spend time with him. Anyway, my dads cancer no longer respods to the hormone therapy but as I mentioned in my previous posts, Doctor Myers uses estrogen as a form of treatment with reasons explained in his interview link I attached. Here is something I found on the net I found interesting with regards to the Red Clover you are taking and recommended Ray:

Benefits of Red Clover

1) Cancer Treatment
- research from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) confirms that red clover extract contains four anti-tumor compounds. Red clover also contains the powerful antioxidant tocopherol, which is a form of Vitamin E. Antioxidants help prevent cancer and other diseases by fighting dangerous free radicals in the body.

2) Menopause Alleviation - Red clover contains isoflavones, potent phytoestrogens that stimulate estrogen tissue. Isoflavones help treat hot flashes, mood swings and loss of sexual desire.

The benefits of red clover extract for health are getting more attention due to the powerful compounds red clover possesses.

I am going to call my sister 'right now' and have her pick some up and start my dad on it ASAP!  It's worth a try, thanks Ray....

Best,

Cindy

Hi again Cathy O that good it will help him, I know it will. It will help any prostate cancer patient with a rising PSA and expressly any one who had sex hormone treatment and it not working any more, This worked because the  phytoestrogens isoflavones in Red clover do not work the same as anti -sex hormone treatment they work in a deferent way, where sex hormone therapy removes the sex hormone from the entire  body. All the red clover dos is work on the cancer cells it a bit slower but it works better as the cancer cell cant get use to it the main way  it works because it mimic sex hormones. but it dont act like sex hormones it works by taking the sex hormone  place on the cancer receptor, thus  blocking the sex hormone from getting to  the cancer cell , the cancer cell then starves and dies this works for breast cancer cells to

Take care and all the bless Ray

BTW Ray, my dads PSA when originally diagnosed back in 2001 and subsequently treated with seed implants was only 4.9. Now at 750, unresponsive to hormone therapy (didn't work for very long, maybe a few months) and looking back, I think he should have had a radical protectomy w/ radiation,,,,but what do I know. His brother called the other night who had his PSA re-check as a result of whats happening only to discover his was 18! It was under 3 in 2007. They can send a man to the moon but can't find a cure for cancer? Cindy

Hi Cindy yeah your right it works on both breast cancer and prostrate cancer I admire you doing the research you know it good. By the way in case any one reading this is concerned by all the holistic treatment, I do here, it was checked by my Naturopath first. The Red clover should come in 40mg tablets I take two in the morning and two at night that’s 160mg a day. with the Vitamin D3 I take 5x1000ui that’s 5000ui a day but I had advise  to also take 10g of vitamin C a day  zinc and selenium and do the Budwig diet of flock seed oil and cottage cheese  as because this has Amiga 3 and Amiga 6 fatty acids this is  important to rebuild and strengthen  the damage to cells cause by the cancer and to help  my immune system all the best cindy say hi to your dad and uncle cheers Ray
