Stage IV Linitis Plastica

My mother (57) was just diagnosed with stage IV Linitis Plastica on May 8, 2009. They are giving her 6 months to live. The doctors have said that the cancer has spread to her spine and to her skull. She will start her first chemo on Monday. She will have 2 days of chemo and then be sent home. I do not have the full details of her treatment but wanted to know if I can help her in any way. I have been researching Linitis Plastica, but haven't found very much research done on the cancer.

I have read that getting her to eat more and getting her immune system up will help her with the chemo.

Is there any books or research out there I can read? Is there a special diet I should keep her on? Anything will help.

Thank you.

Hello, I'm so sorry that your Mother is having to go through this. It is very important to try and keep up her nutrition, but so very hard during chemo or radiation when the last thing they want to do is eat. Good research is so hard to find on this.... it doesn't have the money coming in like other cancers really. in strength, Amy

My mother has been eating every 2 to 3 hours. We've been giving her what she wants hoping that she can gain some weight. She will have her second round of chemo and then radiation starting on the 8th.
