hi. i am a new member and let me tell you this year has been rough so far.getting diagnosed w/hpv 45 isn't any good news:( * let me tell you, we must all pay attention to our bodies. i had this itchy feeling and kept thinking it's just a yeast infection.after a check-up&some monistate that didn't would and also some diflucan, i got concern.this itchy feeling was horrible.got the news hpv 45, i was shocked! i cried for two days and then my life just looked a bit more brighter.i do have two small children ages 3&5 yrs.old, so i got to take even more care of myself now. but,i asked why me, i will never know that answer. so now, i had a coloscopy and that was uncomfortable, and also on april 30th, just got the "LEEP" done and that was super uncomfortable.thank goodness for the needle and the numbbing it's great. i don't feel that this procedure is not a big deal, it's a "BIG" deal. I am experiencing pelvic pain at times, and bleeding more if i walk around, or do any house work, or just anything. i'm not very mobile and it hurts if i drive, just to step on the pedal to brake:( had a lot of discharge and stinky kind, weird colors. I say listen to your body, it needs rest and believe me i'm in no rush to have sex.i have had the same partner for 15 yrs,the weird thing is that he doesn't have hpv, he got tested.I'm taking it easy and try not to do to much. Please listen to your body also don't go to the appointment alone i did and i regret it. it's not a light procedure and you shouldn't drive home.i don't know why these docters say it's ok, i felt horrible and still feeling horrible. This is the only body you have and take care of it! :) any other questions feel free to ask:).

Josie did you get your results after your colposcopy and then more after the LEEP? I too had the colposcopy last week and have my LEEP on Friday but didn't think their might be more results (thought I got them after the colp.). Thanks for the advice on not driving. I know every body is different but I have a 1 1/2 drive to the docs and like you said, my doc said I would be fine to drive home. I think I'll re-thing tha :)

hi.yes, i had a colposcopy and got my results in a week.the docter said that at the area where he took the samples wasn't the area where the cancer is at.my docter said that it would help to do the "Leep", i said sure if it will help. i forgot to mention in my original post that, after my "Leep" the itchy feeling that i had been suffering from for about a month, completely went away, maybe because they took the whole chunk of tissue. At, the moment i am having my good days which are when i do hardly anything around the house or just nothing, or else i start to bleed, and get the pelvic pain. This morning i did get some blood clots and now i need to call the docter.I guess you will bleed for two weeks. I had instruction of taking care of myself after the Leep. No, heavy lifting especially above the head or so. No, intercourse at all.Nothing, to be put in the vagina area like tampons or stuff. I must say that everyone is different and i have read that many people have no discomfort at all that is great for them, but for me i'm feeling helpless the bleeding and having to wear pantiliners or a pad isn't a joyful thing, it gets hot.Just, today i was able to sit on my bottom, haven't been able  to since the Leep, the pressure in the area hurted a lot. I bought a "plastic doughnut"thing it helped a lot and make sure you have tylenol.Get, plenty of rest when your body tells you and take care of  yourself. I was amazed at the docters office that the office manager said- it's no big deal this Leep procedure. She wouldn't be saying that if it was her, getting the procedure. I am waiting for my Leep results, will be going into the docter on thursday the 21st.My other concern was that the day after the Leep i got my period so i'm not sure if i'm healing at all. Now, the period has gone away and it hurt even more after the period dried up.Every movement can be felt, have been carring my plastic vinyl doughnut around:) I've bee very fortunate that my family has been a great support. I'm just scared to get the results. I have read on line that many people get the bad news about the cancer spreading and stuff. I just pray that its not to bad news.

I'm so sorry you are having a tough time. Hang in there! It's interesting to me how the doctors office makes this sound like no big deal and then reading through other posts, I think it is! The only result I got from my colposcopy was that is was negative for cancer. The nurses didn't mention anything about my endocervical glands, dysplacia, or transformation zone. I am now writing a lists of questions for her to answer before the LEEP procedure. Hang in their and don't worry. Worrying won't make anything better...just worse :)

I think you may be having complications from the LEEP. Definitely call your doctor. However, your doctor should have discussed all of this. It is a requirement. I think you need to get a new doctor. Make sure you get copies of your lab reports so that you know exactly what happened. This includes doctor's notes. You may have to pay for the contents of your file. But it's worth it.

I'm also curious to know what exactly you had. Being infected with HPV is one thing. But unless you actually had high-grade dysplasia, you shouldn't have been treated.

Josie, I'm glad your doctor educated you. That's the kind of doctor to keep. Please just make sure you have copies of all of your lab reports.
