Michaella -

I'm not as young as you; I am 44. I had a lumpectomy with sentinel node removal in January. I then had 30 radiation treatments over 6 weeks. I just finished that in April so I can't really tell you the long term story. I will tell you that a positive attitude will go a long way. Try to reduce your stress which isn't easy with a 3-year old. Rest when you can and watch your diet....lots of fruits and vegies. We are here for you when you need us. We will pray for you when you are down and will do happy dances as you meet the milestones that come with treatment.

Ladies,

Please have a positive attitude.  It is extremely important to expect the best.  Research has shown that our mind and body work together to keep us healthy.  If your cancer was diagnosed early, you can be cured and live a long healthy life.  Even more advanced situations have gone into remission for many many years and is some cases have been cured.  You can help yourself by writing out positive messages.  I say every day, "Thank you God for my healthy body."  Whenever I get frightened, I repeat that phrase.  I also eat well and excersise regularly.  Reach out to your family for time off from your daily routine of taking care of others.  An hour to yourself can make a huge difference in your attitude.  Watch funny movies, read happy books and feel the love of your children.  Live is challenging but it's worth it.  Don't feel defeated.  Your attitude can make a difference.

God bless!

Roseann
