Hello everyone,
My name is Amy and I found this site by Googling
"Leep procedure complaints". I am extremely active in the herpes and hpv community and also work at a large std clinic. I have a gal that I am counseling. Those of us who live with hpv have lots of paps because cervical cancer is HIGH in those who have hpv. My friend's pap had the abnormal squamous cells and she has dysplasia from the hpv itself and she has had a Leep done. No actual problems with the Leep itself altho SINCE then she has attempted to have another Pap and has suffered cervical stenosis from the Leep. They attempted to dialate her cervix to perform the pap she passed out bled like crazy. She is angry and wonders how she will ever find out about the abnormal cells due to the fact that now they can not seem to get into her cervix to perform a pap to find out! Does this happen often? Is there anything she can do other than speak with her physician again to do something for the pain? What can be done for cervical stenosis? Please don't say she should have the Leep again....I don't beleive that will happen because she feels so butchered from the first one....*sigh**** I am concerned for her....she was healing from the diagnosis of herpes then came the hpv and the dysplasia and then the Leep....she feels her sexual life is over and can't believe she will ever feel different - I am hoping to find her some support for the bad Leep experience.
Thank you for the opportunity to get some answers from those here who seem to have walked a mile in her shoes. (in regard to the Leep only.)
This is a great site and I wish all of you who are on this Board God's Peace and understanding and that you will know that while you are fighting your fight with cancers, there is only ONE set of Footprints because you are in God's Mighty Hands.
Thank you for any and all help!
Amy :-)
