Hi, I am a newbie to this type of cancer. Am I right in assuming that ANY nodule biopsied on Endoscopy in the Ampulla will result in major surgery, whether benign or not?
Thanks in advance.

Let me know what you find out. My husband and I are currently at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle waiting to find out the biopsy results of a mass in the ampulla. I am so scared for him. We do know it hasn't spread.

If you have a chance with surgery, take it. It is the only "cure" for this type of cancer -- you do not want it to spread or come back, because the chemo options are all awful and none of them really work.
