My father has been in the hospital for the last few weeks due to decreased oxygen level. These past few days his health has decreased significantly. He's had COPD and according to the doctor, he most likely has lung cancer. Unfortunately, a biopsy can't be done due to the condition of his lungs. A cat scan was done back in nov and last week and based on the growth of the mass, the pulmonologist believes it is lung cancer. Sadly, the doc said nothing else can be done, and he's going to spend his "remaining days" at home with hospice care. Looking for advice on what to expect these next few weeks..He is predicted to have between 2 wks-2 months. Thanks.
Impossible. They said the same thing to my Mom who is not a smoker or second hand smoker, and guess what, her O2 level is going up after a series of correctional treatment.
They should have his blood test done to see if he got a persistent Pulmonary Infection / Pneumonia Infection (what kind) and cure from there. Since my mom is on Colistin antiobiotic breathing treatment (not IV antiobiotic). Her lung is clear, she is no longer producing a lot of slimy mucus... She no longer needs a lot of suctionings every 2 hrs... ONCE a day now...
Go for 2nd opinion instead. Fire him.
Good luck,
