RE: Puffiness from Sutent?

After each round of Sutent, we have now noticed the swelling begins slightly earlier and is lasting longer each time. In fact, this last round (his 3rd), due to a stretch of bad weather, he was unable to get outside and move around. This apparently cause severe swelling in his lower legs, ankles and feet.

Thanks for the reply. This is day 6 of our 14 day break and, as you said, the swelling has gone down some. We see the doctor on Monday.

RE: Puffiness from Sutent?

I also get facial bloating a few days into my breaks. I can always tell when it arrives because I'll wake up one morning and can feel the weight of my face. In my case it usually only lasts a few days. I try to avoid going out because i feel like the elephant man. Then my left eye will start running and in a day or two I'm back to normal. I've been on Sutent for 30 months. (4 weeks on 2 off) Originally at 50 mg and dropped down to 37.5 for the last 11 months due to toxicity. Lately I've also experienced swelling of my lower legs during the last couple of days of my break and first few of the next cycle. I try to lay on the couch and put my feet on the top of the couch back to help them go down. This seems to be related to when I spend more time than normal standing. Hope this helps.Shaun

My husband just completed his first 4 weeks of Sutent 3 days ago. He had very few side effects however today he is very tired and very puffy in his face. I came to this site to see if I could find some info on other patients. Before calling the doctor, I wanted to see if this is a common occurrence when you stop Sutent...I see it must be so I will call them just to let them know. Thanks for posting...
