Hi,
It is survivorable. If it is totally contained in the bladder, he can be ok. We have 1 years out of surgery and doing ok.
The terrible fear is gone and we have other survivors to talk to. Read more and God Bless.

my dad also had this kind of cancer. he recently had his baldder out but has been experiencing many complications. i believ this could be in part due to the fact that dads doctor talked us into removing his bladder by robot. if i knew what i know now i would do it the old fashioned way. the sugery itself was difficult but very manageble. type three many times comes back so its important to watch it closely and have his bladder out before its beyond the wall. the survival rate is much better then. this is a painful and difficult process. tell your dad to keep his spirits up becasue it will help him recover faster.
all my best.
Deb
