Well, I was diagniosed  with a 5 cm tumor  ontop of right lobe, had resection even though it was undefined, cancer or blood filled right portal vein. Dr said I wasn't a canidate for transplant,(Dr an idiot, told my wife and I if the tumor was 5 cm or larger he would try another treatment, right portal had blood flow 1 mo before surgery, clogged 1 mo after, told me everything looked good in hospital, told my wife and I , still cancer in liver 2 weeks after surgery) Anyway I went o Mayo in Rochester (should of would of could of) to see if I could get that transphere procedure, well, the Dr put me in a clinical trial with Mapatumumab and Sorfenib, start june 1st 2009, Just wondering if anyone is got this problem? and what herbs to take?  PS I have Hep C, and mild cirrohsis, ben clean and sober 25 yrs, which probably extended my life. Did the pegasys and 2 other treatments before so I know these chemo drugs are harsh

My husband was diagnoised with primary liver cancer with Portal Vein Thrombosis in April 09. He is having treatment at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pgh, PA at their Liver Cancer Center. He was told he could not have any part of the right lobe removed nor could he be on the transplant list due to the PVT. He has ongoing veracies in his esophagus and intestine.I believe 14 so far. He had his first treatment of THERASPHERE on 6/25/09 followed by a CT Scan and overnight stay. They did another CT Scan the following day B/4 being released. We had good results on 6/29 - the treatment had started attacking the cancer - it can sometimes take several weeks before any good results, so he has been fortunate. No real side effects. Just wish these varicies would stop bursting. He has to go to the hospital each time as this is internal bleeding when they burst. They have to "scope" him and band them. All in all he is doing great. On a soft diet for one week then back to regular food. He is to walk one hour per day and do whatever he was doing b/4. He doesnot have any Hep but does have cirrohsis. He smoked for close to 58 years, stopped in April and was not a very big drinker. WE are very pleased with the THERASPHERE Treatment and hope that they will be able to give it to you. The varicies are  due to the PVT and as I said they will be an ongoing problem. Did not want to go the chemo route - too many side effects. He does have two tumors in the rt lobe. Let us know how your progress is going and really push for the THERASPHERE treatment.

Regards, Moeman
