Greetings all. I am new to Carac and on day 11. So far I just have a lot of red spots and dots. (With the exception of one big red splotch by my left eye.  Is this normal? I was expecting to look hideous by now, but so far just have the red dots and no itching, pain, etc.etc. I don't WANT to feel miserable or look horrible -- but is that all ahead? Do tell! It has relaly helped reading your messages! Also -- has anybody else gotten a sore mouth after having applied more than a pea-sized amount of Carac? I think I might be ultra-sensitive to this medicine. With blue eyes, fair skin, and blonde hair (parents were Norwegian and Irish) - I think i got possibly the most suspeceptible of skin types!

No it's normal although everyone reacts differently . I just finished 4 weeks of carac to the face and carac with Retin A mixed to the scalp . Your aks are apparently isolated and reacting well. Interestingly I had chrmo iv for colon cancer with 11 mos of 5fu which is fluoracil based , as is carac powerful stuff it fought off my cancer for a bit , but side effects were extreme .Now they use drugs that ease the side effects , but that was 13 yrs ago . I wouldn't be concerned .your response is  normal.  ( My Dr  joked that I had " cheap Irish skin " .)   He's Irish too and has the same problem with the sun .Good luck .

You must not have a lot of pre cancerous cells if you reacted in such a manner. My face was on fire by the fourth day and continued treatment for 28 days. also blonde, blue eyed. If all you have are some red dots this is good..
but definetly talk to the doctor if you mouth got sore.. not supposed to put this stuff near mouth, eyes, or nose
good luck
