Stomach cancer - inability to drink/eat after 6 months of surgery

Hi all - i m new to this chatting/forum and i m seeking for help.

My mom has had her stomach removed 6 months ago, and she s now in the hospital and will stay there till the end as she cannot eat/drink anything.

It feels like the espfagous has blocked, by the chest (sorry - my explanation sucks) - so she feels there is something in the upper stomach that blocks any food / liquid from entering the stomach, so she keeps on vomiting just after she has tried some bits of food.

Is this a result of a mistake in the surgery, or has the illness progressed so much and this justifies the blockage?

Also, is there a way (surgery/g-knife) to untie this blockage?

Thank yoy

It is possible that the blockage is due to the growing tumor.  Is your mom on tpn.  That will help nourish her.  Also, you are going to need to find a doctor who can put a stent for the blockage.  Usually, the doctors who work in universities have more experience in this.  I am so sorry to hear this is happening to your mom.

I had a blockage after I had 75% of my stomach removed and had an upper GI done,  The liquid barrium they gave me to drink for the test dried up in my stomach and blocked my intestine.  Had she had a test done recently to where this could happen?
