Diep surgery, NOLA has anyone had the surgery and what was your out of pocket fees?

Hi I am at the first stage of making plans for the Diep reconstruction bi-lateral. I have had 5 implant replacements and my body rejects them.

I am currently trying to see what my insurance will pay for DIEP in NOLA.  Have they done all of the preauth work?  I will have Dr. Robert Allen.  He has a 99% success rate and invented the DIEP.  I hope to have great results but not sure what the out of pocket expense will be other than my travel expenses.  I am from North Dakota.  I will be curious who else will respond to your query and hope it will help both of us.

I have heard back from the clinic that I am a good candidate for the surgery. :) I also found out what my out of pocket amount will be, 6500.00. Not bad considering the amount of work and the stay in the hospital and all. I have met other women who have had Dr.'s Sullivan and his team and saw the results and felt the results. Absolutley amazing!

I have had Bi-lateral mastectomy with implants, I have had them replaced 4 times in 4 years! I am so tired of having surgeries. I will hopefully get started with the preop requirements in a couple of weeks. I hear the weather is HOT in the summer and humid. I don't care I will be in airconditioned facility.

Hi, I had a DIEP in Los Angeles at Little Company of Mary Hospital.  I have a HMO Plus which means I can use either the PPO side or the HMO side of my insurance.  My doctor did a fabulous job and I could not be happier.  It has been 2 years since my surgery and it still looks great and I have not had any problems.  If anyone is interested in interviewing my doctor in Torrance, CA let me know and I can get you his information.  I am a Breastlink patient and Breastlink is one of the top 10 breast cancer centers in the country and they only refer out to the best.

Were you able to get a referrel from your doctor?  That might help with the PPO.  I still haven't heard what my out of pocket will be. Are you going?
