3 Nodules in lungs

I had a CT of the chest and it showed a thyroid nodule and 3 lung nodules:  6mm, 9mm, and 13mm.  The radiologist read it as possible lung metastasis I think because of the thyroid nodule.  I had a needle biopsy and it was benign.  Now, the pulmonologist wants me to get a PET scan to rule out metastasis from cancer somewhere other than the thyroid.  I was actually disappointed to find out that it wasn''t thyroid cancer because that is easy to cure.  If I do have lung metastasis, I can't even imagine where the primary is.  I am healthy, although I had a case of vertigo two months ago and was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis. I have off and on ear pressure with just a little dizziness.  Now I am worried if I do have cancer that it metastized to my lungs and brain.  I had an ENG which I don't have the results yet.  I know the dizziness is related to my ears because they block up with pressure and then I get a little foggy more than dizzy.  Has anyone had lung nodules as big as mine and they were not cancer?  This has been a long week and I am so stressed out.  Please tell me, someone, that these nodules can be benign.

HI LORRIE,

The tumours could be benign, take ond day at a time and get the best out of each day, do not stress out about things until you get to know results, make sure you are positive as this will help you so much.... cross the bridges when you come to them and always have hope in your heart and pray a lot, this is what has got me through.... prayer, family and friends and being positive....

       BEST WISHES BARB

I 2nd Barb's comments.    The best thing for your body, and why not have quality of life each day.   Can you seek some kind of distraction each day, something that takes your mind off it  til you get the test results, reading, music, new project, hiking?   If the worst happens and you do have Stage IV cancer, that also is manageable.   God had prepared me for that diagnosis.   A daughter had loaned me the book THE SHACK about a man who had a terrible thing happen, he was mad at God and God invited him to the shack for a weekend so the man could get to know God better and understand and be at peace.  Mission accomplished.   God even prepared me for the Stage IV lung cancer diagnosis, a total surprise, before I got it.   I was just fine, with a little cough, and the dr. accidentally found a spot in an xray and went on to search and found Stage IV cancer in lungs and back.   Did not feel at all sick,or any pains.   We went immediately for the best treament available at a major cancer treatment center, SCCA, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, where they have specialists and access to the best equipment and diagnostics and latest research.    I still have felt "not sick."   The treatment has managed things very well.

Hi, Yes, they can be fine. My sister has 16 non-cancer nodules in her lungs. They just want to watch them to make sure they don't grow or change. Saying a prayer for you. Moon and Stars
