Hi I'm a newbie here and after some advice, because the docs have been so vague. My 7 year old son fell off his roller skates about 4 weeks ago. The x ray showed that he had a tumour in his upper arm and a fracture. The 1st doctor said that it was a bone cyst, to go home and not to worry, so very relieved thats what we did. 1 week later we had a letter saying that the x rays had been reviewed and they would like us to go to our local orthopaedic hospital. The consultant there said that it was not typical of a bone cyst and sent him for an MRI scan which was inconclusive. 2 days ago he was supposed to have a needle biopsy but when he came back from theatre, he'd had an open biopsy (not sure why, and no doctors around to ask). We're just waiting for the results should have them on Friday of this week. What I'm wondering is how do you cope with waiting (I know I'm a nightmare to live with at the min) and are they looking for cancer? Is it likely to be cancer? Does anyone else have a similar story and can help?
