Hemorrahagic ascites is rare and an indication that something has ruptured. It appears that they are replacing the blood that has been lost during the last tap. But they need to determine where the bleeding is coming from. If they just did a new tap and no fluid came out, that means that also no blood came out, so maybe they have done something to fix the cause of the bleeding? Is his belly still large and uncomfortable? If so, and no fluid came out, something doesn't add up and I would continue to question the doctor. I'm not a doctor, I consider myself a patient advocate....I have advocated for many people, and have found that if you don't ask the question, you don't get the answer. The tricky part is knowing what question to ask. I think you are asking the right questions and should continue to meet with your fathers medical team until you get the answers you need in language that you understand. Demand it.
