Testicular Lump and Tailbone Pain

One night about three and a half weeks ago I awoke around 5:00 a.m. after falling asleep on the couch which I often do on many nights.  But this particular morning I felt this odd pain in my tailbone.  Nothing excruciating, just uncomfortable.

The evening before I fell asleep, I was performing my usual stretching of my lower back.  The process in which I do this is by laying flat on my back on the couch and lifting one leg up and then pulling over the other.  This usually results in some cracking of my lower back which gives me some general relief of that area (I have experienced lower disc problems in the past).  I then do the same with the other leg and can get a few more “cracks” out of it.

When I had awoken at 5:00 a.m. I went up to bed to finish my night of sleep.  I woke up around 7:30 a.m. to find myself in more pain than at 5:00 a.m.  I led myself to believe that this pain was self inflicted as I was playing Chiropractor on myself.  So, for the next week or so, it was painful (5 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst) to walk.  Sitting generally bumped up the pain level to a 7 or 8.  Enough to where I would have to sit on one cheek while driving or sitting to eat a meal.

After about 2 weeks, the pain was subsiding.  The tenderness continued to remain but I was ale to sit normally and the discomfort was not enough to keep me up at night.

The pain has returned in the last two days (pain scale of about a 4).  I noticed that when I apply pressure in the tailbone area it is much worse and tend to not want to do that. :o

Today, I have developed this cessation of pressure in the rectal area.  It feels like I have to have a bowel movement.  I had one late in the evening and the stool was a little soft and pellet like.  Well, more like ping pong balls like (I assure you, no ping pong balls were present or experimented with!).

Even after having the bowel movement, I feel as though I have this pressure and strong urge to have another bowel movement.  I attempted this with no success.  I do not have the normal constipation symptoms that I have ever experienced in the past.  This feels like the stool is right at the edge but nothing actually there.  It remains uncomfortable to sit for periods of more than 4 minutes at a time.

For some reason the thought came to mind that I just to a testicle self exam (again no ping pong balls used for this test).  I noticed that my right testicle felt irregular.  The left one ok.  From my understanding, they could be of different sizes but should feel relatively the same.  I feel like a nodule or some extra ridge on the right testicle itself.  It is not painful to the touch although I feared to squeeze too hard.

Despite my silly comments slipped in on this thread, I am actually quite frightened.  I have a physical (last one about 3 years ago) scheduled at the end of June (2009).  I made a late night phone call to my father (Physician - Internal Medicine) and he suggested that I call my GP first thing Monday morning to see if he can fit me in same day.  I will not have my father (although I’m 39 years old and he in his 60’s) check me out.  I won’t even allow him to give me shots J

I was wondering if someone has experienced this same thing (same symptoms) and what the outcome may have been.  Positive outcomes would be greatly appreciated.  Although, I will handle whatever comes my way and I very well may be blowing this out of proportion.  I have 4 children (ages 8 to 17) and I can’t bear the thought of ever abandoning them in this world.

Thank you-

Thomas

Hi Thomas, I was up all night off and on with severe pain in my testicles and my tail bone.  A couple of months ago I had a similar night but no other pain in between.  I hope to see my doctor in a couple of days. Wondering what your outcome has been.  I too have kids.  thanks for your time, B
