Hi there, I've been fighting cancer for  a yeqar and a half and unfortunately I now have metastatic disease (gastric with peritoneal mets). I had one round of adjunct chemo (curative) 8 months ago  but unfortunately it was unsuccessful and I'm now facing another round of chemo (supportive). I'm a nurse and have always put my faith in traditional medicine but now find myself looking farther. I have heard some good things about Pau D'arco (tea form) and am wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience with it. The research that I have done looks good but would like to hear from someone who has used it. Any input wpuld be greatly appreciated. Kathryn

Hi Kathryn,  I have been seeing a naturopath for about a year now, and have been on Pau D'Arco for about 6 months. (I've had a neuroendicrine tumor of the pancreas, with liver mets and transplant, and one spinal tumor since 2002, which were removed.)  I can't say if it is actually helping or not, since I don't have another scan until August, however, I can say that I have had no adverse effects from taking it.  I'm on many supplements right now, so it's difficult to say what's working and what's not.  I feel good, though, so I continue to take what I am currently on.
