Yes he is.  Gets his 5th one tomorrow.  Doing well with it.  He gets his treatment every 3 weeks on Thursdays and Sundays are his down days.  No nausea, fever, vomiting.  Just zapped and no energy other than to water flowers, eats and drinks very well.  We've learned to flush, flush, and flush your system after chemo.  Have not had any problems with his white blood cells being so low or other toxicities that require you discontinue the treatment for several weeks.  Keep me posted on how your husband is doing.  Tina

My husband was diagnosed with Advanced prostate Cancer, Mestatic to the bone, pelvic area, lower spine and lyump.  His PSA score was 934.7 when he was dianosed.  He has started the TrelStar LA Hormone thearpy plus casadex on May 1st 09  None of the doctors are really saying how long the thearpy will work, they only give general terms.  His PSA has dropped to 81.6 .  But does anyone have any idea how long the thearpy will work.  They said their is no other treatment at this time due to the advanced stages.

I started the Casodex treatment August of 07. I also take a lupron shot once every 4 months. PSA is now 0 but was never as high as your husband. I have never heard of a PSA that high before.

Prayer and faith in God and a positive attitude go a long way in recovery.

I have my bucket list and I am also doing things and enjoying life.

God bless you and your husband. I am 71 and still kicking

I has a psa of 990 on diagnosis last year. I am Gleason 8 and D4. Lupron took it down to 1.0 after 2 months and held there for another two months then started going up rapidly. Drs told me Luron wouldnt work for long and they were right. I thinkit had to do with the extensive bone mets. They are doinga trial now to add chemo right away for people like me. Wish I had done chemo right away and I think the Lupron would have worked for much longer. Visited Snuffy Myers once and he came off as a quack. Would tell me anything I wanted to hear. I
