No mets to liver, but in the lung

We are grateful to have a clean liver, but have mets in the lungs.  This must be uncommon because all I'm reading talks about the liver first.  Guess it is just random??

My mother had mets to both lungs, but not the liver, less than 5 months after the Whipple surgery.  We were also surprised.
