Hi, sorry about your Mom.  My husband has small cell lung cancer and went thru all the chemo, radiation, brain radiation too as a preventative measure.  He also complains of his chest hurting.  They should give her some pain meds to help.  The hardest part now is  his breathing and not being able to eat.  He is never hunger and lost about 45lbs so far.

Hope all goes well with your Mom.

Take care,

KA

I have my first 6 cycles of chemo last year with Carboplatin + Taxol , then, I have 3 cycles of chemo this year with cisplatin + Alimta .

I hv not encounter any chest pain . But, i have hair loss for Carboplatin + Taxol.

U may check the list of side effect for the chemo drug that you mom using.

Or , maybe you can also check with other doctor for second opinion .
