Thank you.SharencecMy Mother had her left kidney removed in 2000. was diagnosed with metastasis on both lungs on 2005. She was on all the treatments available to date and was also on a research trial for SAHA. on Feb 09 she started getting a cough, she got a CT scan everything was clear other than the cancer, so they put her on Mucinex, a cough medicine with codeine, and on March 09, they put her on breathing treatments and steroid pills for bronchitis, but the cough kept getting worse, Her lungs were always clear.and even though she had cancer she was feeling good had no other complications or diseases. But this cough would not go away. we went in and out of the ER in April, had several X-rays and everything seemed normal. had another CT scan on Late April which then we found out her cancer had spread to her Lymph nodes. we thought that's why she couldnt' get rid of her cough. She was to start the new drum treatment Everolimus on early may and hope that could help. But the cough kept getting worse, she was hospitalized on 5/5/09 when she was in the ICU they tested some of her sputum and found out that all along she had a fungi insfection that was attacking her lungs. Aspergillus is a very complicated infection to treat and can be deadly. For My Mother this was fatal she lost her battle on May 16, 2009My mom never had fever, this is one of the main reasons she was not tested for Fungi infections. I wished we would of kept asking for this test. My mom fought a great battle and never gave up. when she was diagnosed with metastasis on the lungs in 2005 they had given her a 6month survival rate, and to her that was just a number she knew she had to fight. She always believed that God would take her when he was ready, and if he was letting her stay longer was to touch our livers with her story of love for her family and maily for God.I hope your husband just has a regular cough but i would get him tested for Fungi infections just to be safe.Stay strong and God Bless you and your family through this journey, Ana
