Worried

Hi, this is my first post here and I was just wondering if someone could help me. I'm sorry this is so long. A little history, in May 2002 I had a total abdominal hysterectomy for fibroid tumors. At that time, my primary care physician told me I didn't need to have any more Pap tests because I no longer had a cervix and had never had a bad Pap. Well, in April of this year, I started going to a new doctor, who suggested that I go ahead and have a Pap anyway. So, I had my first Pap in almost four years, and it came back ASC-US. I was supposed to get a follow-up Pap in a month, but due to a family crisis, it was August before I had the repeat. It was again ASC-US, so my doctor requested an HPV test, which showed I was positive for the strains that cause cervical cancer. In September, I had a colposcopy, which showed moderate and severe dysplasia in three areas on the vaginal cuff where my cervix had been. Due to my work schedule (I'm an instructor at a community college), I had to put off scheduling the laser vaporization surgery until later this month. I had an ultrasound last week because of an ovarian cyst, and during the test, a 1.2 cm tumor was found the top interior portion of my vaginal cuff in close proximity to the dysplasia on the outer side. My gyn assumes that this tumor is a fibroid, and doesn't feel that it is related to the dysplasia, even in the light of the symptoms I've been having for the past couple of months (nausea, alternating constipation/diarrhea, almost constant pain in my lower abdomen which radiates through to my back and down my legs, and urinary frequency.) Has anyone here had a tumor diagnosed after a hysterectomy like this? Has anyone had a tumor diagnosed along with dysplasia and it was benign? Has anyone had similar symptoms? Could this be cancer? I must admit that I'm very scared. I have an appointment with a gyn/oncologist on Dec. 20, but would like to hear from those who have been there. Thanks and hugs, Lisa
