can someone please tell me why my mum is hemoraging. She has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer two weeks ago. She is a truck driver in america, and before she started her radiation treatment she went on the road and started to hemorage. She is 2000 miles away from home , stuck in a hospital in chicago. She has been there for a week and a half and has now had two blood transfusions and will have another tomorrow because she is losing so much blood. I live in the uk and have not been able to get any info out of anyone. No one seems to know why she is bleeding so much. They will not do all the tests there to determin how far along the cancer is because she wants to return to california. My head is in a mess and i don't know what to do because no one seems to know anything. Please help...

Hi Christie,

It must be very difficult for you to be so far away from your Mother when she is so ill.  But I think the hospital is probably doing all they can for her since she prefers to return to California for her treatment.  What does your Mother tell you about what she is hearing from the docs?  She probably doesn't know much either, since no further testing has been done.  Does she have any friends in Chicago or has anyone gone there to support her while she is hospitalized?  There isn't much you can do from the UK except call her and be there for her if she calls you.

I will keep you and your Mother in my prayers.  Good luck to you both.

I am so sorry this has happened to your mother. Is there any way you can get time off and go to her?
