Each one has different strengths and weaknesses. Part of it depends on your exact cancer. Part of it depends on what clinical trials they have to offer. Part of it depends on they exact type of cancer that the patient has.
When I was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer with mets to the liver, I was given no hope. The Mayo clinic and the U of MN both said they could help me. I wound up going to the U of MN and signing up with a Stage II clinical trial with them.
Dr. Rothenburger is a top colon surgeon and one that the ACS refers to in their literature. My onc, Dr. Greeno is wonderful at answering questions.
Also remember that Lance Armstrong went to MD Anderson and wasn't given much hope. He found an onc in Indiana, and, well, well all know the rest of that story.
It helps to look around to find someone who can help you with your particular situation. No two colon cancers are like, no two people are alike. What worked for me, may not work for you.
