It is not how good they are, it is whether the doctors are willing to treat your beloved one if they are being labelled of Stage 4 Met cancer patients!   I tried Cedar Sinai and got turn down from a series of good doctors just because my mom was not treat pneunmonia correctly and they were afraid my mom wont make it.  After moved my mom to a smaller hospital, the primary care internist was able to subside her pneumonia however, her lung muscle got weaker and she now needs oxygen support, a trache was put in (what a mistake?) so indeed, no hospital, no good reputation doctors likes to take my mom in for additional treatment.

I think you have to present (pledge) your dad's case to the doctors to see if they are willing to take him in for treatment (either the phone/snail mail/fax) prior wasting your time...

Best wishes,

V

Based on our research and asking around, one of the best lung cancer especialists is Karen Reckamp, we have taken our mom to her for consultation on a number of occasions, she is good and has a number of clinical trials going.

There is another guy that is supposed to be very good his name is Robert Figlin, however, we have not met him.

Keep in mind that these guys are all good at COH. the two names are base on the research I did.

Best of luck.
