Border Collie with TCC

Just over 3 weeks ago our 9 year old border collie suffered a ruptured bladder which left her very ill.  The exploratory surgery concluded that she had a tumor in the bladder near the urethra which was later confirmed as TCC.  She had a foley Catheter fitted directly to the bladder, which has been draining nicely until today, it suddenly fell out, despite us making sure she didn't do anything silly to cause it.

We got her to our local vets, who decided they were unable to re-insert it because the hole has closed up.

They stabilised her with a vaginal catheter until we can get her back to the specialists next week to discuss putting a new one into her bladder. Meanwhile she is stuck at the local vets rather than being at home with us.

We were planning on spending her final few months making sure she was happy and had a good time, but it just seems that she is in and out of the vets every few days and not able to understand why.

Has anyone out there been through the same with their dog and should we be worried about the amount of time spent with the vet instead of us?
