You have to make lifestyle changes. Don't focus on the reports, they are abysmal and will rob you of hope. 50% live longer, and some much longer than the standard prognosis you'll see in research reports. The fact that your husband was able to have a liver resection is very good news in the world of bile duct cancer.   grillsgt47 Sun, 05 Jul 2009 00:00:00 GMT In August, 2007 I went through a similar sounding surgery.  I went through chemo however, (gemstar and tarceva) just in case there was microscopic cancer cells in my blood. The chemo was very mild and I did not get really sick or even lose my hair.
