colon cancer metastasized to liver

hello. i'm new here and very scared and worried about my dad.

my dad had colon cancer that has metastasized to his liver. last year he underwent colon surgery and it is now clean. he had the legions removed last week from his liver and is still in the hospital. there were 7 legions and they were on both sides of the lobe. he hasn't had any solid foods and is on liquids. he now has diareaha and my mom seems to be worried that this isn't a good sign. she said if it continues, he will not be able to start chemo.

they had a marker test done to see what kind of chemo would 'kill' the cancer and we haven't gotten those results back yet.

i feel like i'm kept in the dark to protect my sanity. i'm worried that this is it for my dad and that i'm going to lose him.
any advice or suggestions? do you think the cancer is as bad as my mother thinks it is?

Hey there...

Take a breath, relax, and think positive thoughts for your dad.  Don't let any negativity come into your thinking.  I don't know where you are with this; I just joined today.  But know that I have said a prayer for your dad and for you.

I was told a couple of weeks ago that my breast cancer has spread to my liver and now I'm on my way to MD Anderson in Houston (by myself).  I trust your dad is happy you are with him and just do whatever you can to lift his spirits.  Don't show defeat and also pray for others and the Lord will bless him.  Whatever happens, keep your smile and your love for him when you're with him and when you're not.  Try putting him on natural whole foods and eliminate the processed and sugary foods.  His body needs all the help it can to beat this.  Man can only keep the cancer at bay while the body heals itself.

Read the Cancer Conqueror and go to www.healingcancernaturally.com for support.  Also, read the book of Job (when he prayed for others, God blessed him) and Daniel (the 3 Hebrew boys thrown in the fiery furnace) about not losing hope and faith.  Take care and be there for your dad and bring all the hope and positive energy you can.  I'm praying and hoping for the best... Ellen Elaine
