Hi Harriet, Nancy, etal.,

Thanks so much for the info you have shared on genetic testing.  You have convinced me to do it asap.  I'm sure that I will test positive and it is time for my kids, nieces, etc. to know if I am.

Nancy, I know you had chemo this week, hope you are recovering by now or at least by tomorrow for the 4th. I have my double cocktail on Wed. and not looking forward to it.  I have had 2 marvelous weeks since the last one.

My anniversary for OVCA surgery is Monday.  I honestly didn't think I'd live this long, but here I am, robust and thriving - going to the gym today for pilates and walking a mile early this morning.  Thanks to my Dr. and the chemo which I hate but have learned to appreciate.

Happy 4th God Bless the USA and all Teal Warriers\

Happy 4th,Gayle and all! Happy Anniversary too Gayle youre marriage not your cancer Anniversary. We celebrate that by being alive still but thats about it.  My cancer anniversary is on the 7, results of ct scan came back, my surgery anniversary, 2 years, is on the 11.

I have my double dose on Tuesday, so we can recover together. My Gemzar treatment went well this past week, no fever, knock on wood. Actually being busy getting house really dusted, and changing things a bit. having some fun too decorating. Tried but doing things.

Hate all this rain we are having here. Wish the sun would stay out for a couple of days.

I am going to have a port put in, sometime in August, my veins are still good, but I think having one put in now will be a postive thing to do, before my viens get bad. Tried of being pricked all the time.

Gemzar really burns going in, I need two hot packs on IV every time and they need to open of saline solution to help it.

Hope all is well with every one out there, Have a happy and safe holiday weekend.

Hi Harriet

I live in the Chicago suburbs. The only complaint I had with radiation was fatigue toward the end of the treatments. The radiation was aimed at a very small area and I had 25 treatments. My doctor said their have been some good results using radiation to treat recurrent MMMT

Happy 4th everyone,

I did that testing and I am BA possitive.  Told every female in my family so that they are all aware.  Nancy, my gemzar burned too and they said that was due to going in too fast, so they slowed it down.

Sunny here in Oregon and loving being outside (too many kids inside)         Getting ready to go to South Dakoda Monday.  No Kids!!!

Gonna be gone for 10 days!!!

Heres a question....anyone have dark brown spots on their legs?  They look like I guess Liver spots.  My mom said they are from chemo---she had chemo 20 years ago and thats when she noticed them.

Best of everything to all, Pam

Hello Warriers,

I have not had any brown spots on my legs, but plenty on my hands - probably due to sun and age.  I have had lots of warts.  Nasty little things.  Just had 12 of them burned off.  Hopefully they will not come back.

Getting a port is an excellent idea, Pam.  I had one put in 3 years ago in addition to the belly port which I'm going to have removed - they say no need for it again.  My port doesn't give blood, but if yours will, they can take blood tests from the port too.  They also used the port for my last blood transfusion which was nice....hopefully no more of them.  I love that port as it is so easy to receive chemo, no burning, no side affects while I get it, and no bruises on my hands, etc.

So, had chemo yesterday and feel great today! must be something wrong here as I usually feel the steroids burning away.  MAYBE this chemo will be easier?  There's always hope.  The 4th day - Sat. will by my very worst day and I better recover a we're invited Sunday to a lovely dinner party.  I WILL RECOVER.

Hope you are feeling well, Pam.

Gayle

Hi teal warriors,

Hey Gayle its Nancy who is getting the port, not pam. Chemo gets you everytime does it?  I am having it put in on August 3. I had a Ip port also back in 07 and they removed it in 08. It was under my right breast.

I am here recovering from my chemo from Tuesday, my head is swimming a bit, but I am doing Ok otherwise. My new insurance is not allowing me to receive Emends, my doctor is protesting it. So I am without it this round but doing quite well considering. I am using zofran if I need it.

I am having a half bath redone, its our downstairs bathroom. So my house is a bit under construction here. Kitchen counter tops are also going to get installed, cabinets are Ok. So I am just here recovering and suppervising the work being done.

Hope all is well with evryone, and Terry good luck with those radiation treatments.

Blessings Nancy

Hi Nancy,  Yes chemo does a number on my brain - so many mistakes I make.  Glad you are getting a port.  Hope you recover rapidly from chemo.

What is Emends and Zofran that your insurance won't allow you to receive.  I haven't heard of it - guess I'm missing out on something.

Sounds like you have a big project going on in your house.  Keep supervising.

Gayle

Hi Gayle, Thanks for responding. I do get topotecan and avastin through an IV. My CA 125 is 952. It seems like the cancer is stable but not going into remission. I am having a CT skan on Monday. I haven't tried Doxel yet. Does that work for anyone? When I was first diagnosed in 12/06 my CA 125 was 19,000. I am stage 3 C. My numbers just run high. Gemsar ard carbo got me down to 100 but then stablilized. Abraxane (for people allegeric to Taxel) brought it down to 48 but the neuropathy was so bad I could hardly walk, so my doctor put me on Tamoxifen for 4 months which brought my ca up to 2300. The topotecan brought it down to 952 and there it stays! I wasn't as sick this week because I took compazine.

Hi Gayle and all,

Gayle, zofran and emends are anti nesuea medicines, i am surprised you dont get them, emends is the one insurance will not allow me, but I am OK WITHOUT IT, I got through this treatment with only taking zofran once,

I am off this week, and have gemzar treatment on the 21. I am just hanging this week, as my bathroom is being done,

Not much ekse to report here, hope all is doing well,

Nancy
