I need help please. My one year old basset has just been diagnosed with undifferentiated sarcoma, in her bladder. I don't know what to do. Two months ago we took her to the vet for a UTI, she was given Cephalexn for two weeks and then we were to return. When we went back to the vet, she still had blood in her urine, so we continued another two weeks on the Cephalexn. After another week, the vet decided to do an ultra-sound. The ultra-sound revealed a mass inside her bladder. We did the test for TCC and it came back positive, but due to all the blood in her urine, we were informed that it could be a false positive. The following week were were scehduled for surgery. The vet opened her bladder and said that the tumor had miagrated into her uretha, like "seaweed", but she was able to remove all of it from that section. However, she could not remove the mass from her bladder wall totally, but she did trim it down pretty close. The vet took a piece of the mass and sent it away. I just got the initial report back and it said undifferentiated sarcoma, which is worse than TCC and more aggressive. I am so worried, I don't want to see her suffer or be in pain. I prayed everday, usually several times, that it wouldn't be anything bad, but nothing seemed to matter. She is so young. I lost my 10 year old basset last year and I it killed me. I don't want to think of loosing Maddie or having to watch her suffer. The vet is going to consult Ohio University and give us our treatment options, but I am lost. I hope someone can give me some information on what treatment options worked for their dog. I am willing to do anything to keep her from suffering, she is like my child.
