chemo effect

Hi to all,

My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last May 22, 2009.

She started chemo Jun 24th, She was given avastin,oxaliplatin and fluorouracil,last night she throw up. Is that normal??? I am worried about her and I'm the primary care taker while working full time. Any other comment will be appreciated...thank you..

         Yes that is normal but she needs to stay ahead of the game with some nosuea medication. I'm sure the Dr. gave her some tell her to take it before she has her Chemo and after just follow her instruction from her Dr. But she muct stay ahead of the chemo for it to work. I wish her and you luck.

      Sorry to hear about your sister, it is very normal to be sick when you get chemo, as her Dr for booklet on side effects and what to do about them before they take over her life. If you cannott get booklet go to American  Cancer Society on here, just google it in fact with google you can get a ton of info on side effects and what to do.

My wife has  stage 1V colon cancer  since 2002 and we have learnt so much info on cancer, diet and the body... so if you need any help or info you can contact us by email if you so wish..

Hello....

          As you have been told there is a pill she CAN AND SHOULD take before her treatment so she will not get sick.....They DO work but she must take them. Her being sick is not good and is making her weaker....and she does NOT have to suffer from this treatment. IF they oncologist has not given her these pills PLEASE ask for them....the oncolgist should be told of her getting sick.
