MGUS?

Hello.  I've recently had a series of lab work that led to a SEP with immunofixation.  It showed my IgA level was 22 (low), and my IgG level was a little over 18,000.  I had an M-spike of 1.3.

I then had a freelite test that showed a low (.20) kappa/lambda ratio.

My renal function/sed rate/calcium levels are all normal.  I have mild normocytic anemia.

I do have some paresthesias that failed to show up on EMG of my right leg.

I see a hematologist/oncologist in 2 weeks.  Does this sound like MGUS? MM? SM?

Anyone else have similar labs?

Thanks for the help.  Kathy.

Correction to original post.  The IgG levels were a little above 1800 (not 18,000).  Still elevated.  Thanks. kc.

That sounds like MGUS. The m-spike is the key. There are alot MGUS folks here. many here have similar labs, my level are:

M-spike 1.0

Kappa freelite 488

lambda freelite 64

ratio 7.6

Igg 13,000

I have been seeing an oncologist since last December. You are not alone!

Heh Kathy -

What are the reference ranges for your labs?  Numbers vary from lab to lab - so I think it is helpful when posting labs - in order to compare numbers with other posters - to include the labs reference range so no one gets alarmed or too relaxed given someone elses numbers : )

Here are some of my labs:

0.6 M Spike (Reference Range = 0 normal)

Kappa Light Chain, Free:     16.10 (Ref range 3.30 - 19.40)

Lambda Light Chain, Free:   13.60 (Ref range 5.71 -26.30)

Kappa/Lambda Free Ratio:   1.19 (Ref range 0.26 - 1.65)

IGG (on SPEP):     872 (Ref range 694 - 1618 mg/dL)

SED rate: 42 (Ref range Normal 20 and below)

Hope this helps!!

Hugs,

Amy

Thanks..I'm new to the site, so i appreciate your feedback.

The ranges you posted were on target with my lab report.  I appreciate you taking the time to list them.

Kathy.
