What happens when your liver mets aren't shrinking with the chemo?

I'm on my first treatment (FOLFOX) and after my first CT scan they said my liver mets were shrinking. I just had my second and was told that they shrunk, but it wasn't a significant change. (like 0.3cm)? Does this mean the chemo has stopped working? What happens now? I think my mets are too big for surgery (4cm and 8cm). Actually I'm not even sure if those are considered large tumors or not. I haven't gotten the chance to speak with my oncologist about the CT results yet. The idea of having my liver cut out really freaks me out, so does having to keep going through more chemo. What a way to spend the 25th year of my life.
