Oh Danielle, you bet I will pray and pray and pray for your sister.  She sounds like a great woman - a wonderful Mama and a good sister!  I'm sorry she has a husband that isn't the best - that makes it so tough on her and the kids and your Mom and you too!  I sure wish he would do better - I remember when I was helping Mom and by this time it was nearing the end and I had to leave the room for alittle bit - she was so scared of everything at that point and I asked my boyfriend to please stay with her and if she started to get scared just please talk to her and he said, ok.  I left for about 20 minutes and came back and God love him, my boyfriend had moved in the the chair next to Mom and was holding her hand and talking - telling her about her kitty cat and just being so good to her - I walked in and he smiled and said, Your Mom got nervous and so I didn't really know what to do - so I held her hand and just started talking - I guess it worked cause now she is okay.  I knew then this guy was a keeper.

Take care my friend - keep your spirits up and don't feel guilty that you can't be there all the time - it is tough.  I took off one week when Mom had her surgery and then the last month I completely took a leave of absence from work to stay with Mom - I don't have children and I felt that I just had to do it - but I would understand you being so far away.  Again, prayers coming your way my friend!

Hugs, Rita

I am so sorry.  I too remember your sister from last year posts and am amazed by her story. This disease is horrible and I am so sorry she is having to battle this. I can't imagine how she must feel with her children and I am glad your mother is there with her. I can't tell you anything about how long but I know there are people to help other than hospice.  We have a rehabilitation hospitol called brooks that has a home health care program where they send nurses and home health aids to your house to help care for your loved one before they go into hospice.  Please try calling her local hospitals or a social worker and see if they have something.  My dad's insurance covers it 100%.

Again I am so sorry.  I really wish this disease would go away and no one else would have to suffer.

My prayers are with your family and I hope there is peace as you go through whatever is ahead.
