Hi ladies.  Just wanted to say thank you for all the sharing you all do for all of us.  I was diagnosed in June of 2007 with stage 3.  had debulking, chemo and Ip chemo.  Lasted 3 days shy of a year, and it came back.  I then had 8 treatments of cisplatin and taxol and that ended in march with a ca125 of 9.  It is so wonderful to be chemo free for even a few months, of course im praying for a LOT more than that!  My oncologist gave me 2 to  3 years, but im being positive that something will come up to help us all and prove her wrong:)  My prayers to all of you and i look forward to future support and sharing with you all!  thanks for listening!

HI Karen -

Do not listen to what your doc says about survival rate. Everyone s different. I was dx'd over 5 years ago with stageIV and they gave me 2 years max. I am still here although I have been on chem 4 of the 5 years and 9 months of tamoxifen. I feel pretty good though  considering. Just hang in there and keep fighting this beast!!!!!

Hi Karen,  I agree with Diane.  Don't listen to your Dr. about the survival rate.  I was DX in '06, had surgery, chemo, the works, off chemo 1 year, now back on Gemzar/Carbo for ever in order to keep the beast from moving into vital organs.  I also have a returned breast cancer which may be some of the reason for continuing chemo in spite of my low cancer markers.  She seems more concerned about the BCA than the Peritoneal.

Anyway, they have stretched my chemo out to every 3 weeks and I have a life now and am enjoying every minute of it.  I excersice (pilates) when I can and walk a mile/day when I feel well.  Eat a healthy diet and pray for the best - that's about all we can do.  Keep healthy, stay fit, and keep fighting.
