RE: PSA has gone up

Ray,His oncologist has his PSA done every month. He will be off the hormone treatment until his PSA is 20, then they are putting him back on it. I am hoping that his PSA stays below the 20 mark so that the holistic will start working without the hormone treatment. I will check how much zinc and Vit C he is taking. I order the zeolite, but it still has not arrived. His diet is ok. He is staying away from sugar. He is also gluten-free, fat free (except for olive oli), dairy free (except for his morning coffee). The only meat he eats is range free chicken and bison. The bison is all natural and no fat. He eats it maybe 2x a month. I would like him off of meat totally, but he was a meat, fat and junk food person all his life, so this is a real shock to him, but he is definitely trying very hard. He has been on the diet since March.

RE: PSA has gone up

Hi Chrystalluna just saw your post it take two weeks to start working and Debby my naturopath told me to stay on it from 6 months to one year. then you have a full CT scan and a bone scan. I notice with mine my PSA did not stop going up until three month later when I started on this My PSA was 13 the last one was 8 in 6 months later so you see it very slow. Can you please tell me when was his last PSA done I get mine done every three months naturopath also reminded me when you have prostrate cancer metastases the PSA not the problem. The red clover will take care of that later. Right now he got to stop the cancer metastases in his body over the next few months I was told if you cant do any thing else the three main thing to do is high dose vitamin C, and Zinc, every day, and absolutely no sugary foods, or drinks, and the Dr Budwig diet in the morning. I found out just one apple has a tea spoon of sugar in it. this can put PSA up. if he stays on it he do well Also if you live in US and you can get pomegranate extract it works the same as the 120mg of red clover a day a bit easy on the pockit I hope this helps take care Ray http://www.nutraingredients.com/Research/Study-supports-pome http://www.mnwelldir.org/docs/nutrition/sugar.htm

My husband is on a clinical trial where they took him off the hormones after 6 months. They want to see if he will respond longer to the treatments if they take him off once in a while.

Did you husband become hormone refractory or just not like the effects of the treatment? Naturalistic treatment is good - and like at a seminar I went to a heart healthy diet is the diet to be on for all things - The cancer oncologist would of course be the one to give you the answer on what is next - back to hormones, ketaconazole, lots of new trials on the horizons and in my life your hubby's PSA is low and he should be a good canidate for a trial, eventually chemo - though some drs are saying due a short course of chemo before the PSA goes completely out of control.

PSA has gone up

My husband has Stage 4 Prostate, with bone and lymph node. He was on intermittent hormone therapy and has been off the treatment since December 08. In May, he started the Budwig treatment along with the Bill Henderson protocol along with red clover (thanks to Ray). His PSA went from 11 to 14 in 1 month. Can anyone tell me how long he should stay on this until he sees any signs of improvement? If this is not the correct treatment for him, I want to look for something else! Thanks!
