Pneumonia

Has anyone out there had pneumonia after their chemo treatments? My husband has RCC with mets to the right lung. The biggest tumor is 3.9cm which is a inch and half big. He has been on Inteferon and Gemzar/Avastin and the last was Torisel for 6 weeks. His RBC got real low and they gave him 2 pints of blood so he is feeling better. He has not be able to have any chemo treatment in 2 months because of being so ran down. They want to start Sutent next but the Dr wants to wait and he is still having side effects from the Torisel. His feet and belly and face have swollen up. They haven't did a catscan in a while as his only Kidney is not working very well. They have been doing ex-rays on his chest and say he has pneumonia now and they can not see the cancer as the pneumonia is covering it or really the pneumonia is the cancer. Has anyone else went through anything like this.? Thanks
