30 female myelofibroses

I am a 30 year old mother of 2 boys ages 9 and 7 I was diagnosed 7 years ago with this disease. My doctor didn't know a lot about it (but who does) she contacted the mayo clinic they said nothing could be done, she didn't listen! she researched and decided to put me on gleevec so that is what i have been on for the whole time. I started with a spleen the size of a football im no sure the size now but do know that it is shrinking. I have a lot of pain in my back and legs. I am also very tired all the time, I have hopes that because she found this so early I will live to see my children grow up, when I was diagnosed she told me I would have 5-6 years to live I could not accept this because I had a new baby and if i was to die my children would not remember me and that broke my heart. So I put this in gods hands and believe that he has a reson for me having this and I hope that i can help find a cure for someone who didnt find it as early as me. I went to the doctor yesterday and was told that I seem to be doing well. We are going to do another bone marrow biopsy to see what is going on, Maybe my grandfathers dreams will come true and it will be gone, I know he is in heaven hoping for the same thing. but for now I keep taking all my pills and praying. I don't know if this helps anyone but I hope it does.
