RE: First Time

Thank you very much! I have been trying to go day by day lately, but I tend to look at the big picture and think the worst about everything. I am very good at that, lol. I will also be talking to my best friend, Angie more about this. I have told very few people, and she is one of them, so maybe it is time to tell her more and just talk about it. I do appreciate your help! On 7/1/2009 RedSoxFan wrote:Try not to worry yet. Go through it day by day and find out your outlook. Alot of women with this type of thing go on to have children. I am newly diagnosed today and am trying my own wisdom...some days it works better than others. I too have been looking for places to vent and find information. This is a good place but try your girlfriends too, I know it might be hard but you would want them to lean on you if it was reversed, right? Good luck...

I'm sorry you have gotten this news, but have you actually seen the lab report? If you truly have cancer or suspected cancer, your doctor needs to send you to a GYN/ONC, who would do cold knife cone biopsy to further diagnose and hopefully treat you, not LEEP. What exactly did your doctor say to you? You may need to get a new doctor. At the very least, get a second opinion?Do you know what grade of dysplasia or cancer you have?

First Time

This is my first time with anything like this, so I don't know exactly how it works. I just found out I have very early stages of cervical cancer, and will have a LEEP done later this month. I don't know who to talk to who actually knows how scared I really feel, or who even understands what I am going through. My boss recommended I find a good support group with people who know what this is like. I also don't know how to ask for help, or even what to specifically ask for. I am a very independent person, and it is hard for me to really be able to ask for any help. I was thinking this evening about what scares me the most. It isn't the procedure, it is the thought of having to deal with the risk of it coming back for the rest of my life, and never being able to have children with my husband. I am totally open to any advice, suggestions, ect.
