Late side effects from immunotherapy

Hi everybody

Got kidney cancer 5½ year ago, finished immunotherapy 1½ year ago - half a year in hell but with a fairly good result (which means no complete response), had a surgery to remove the resulting metastases. Though tired I started early to work but ever since the immunotherapy sleeping has been crap. I only sleep for about four hours every night and I'm getting more and more tired (CT-scans arent wonderful but at least there are yet no reoccurance of the RCC).

My docs says side effects can last for long but it should be over now.

Anybody else who are so f...... tired so long after immunotherapy?

Regards from Denmark

Dear Mr. Rufus,

Finished the IL-2 therapy about 6 months ago, went through 5 rounds. Hell on wheels does not even cover it as I am sure you know. Cancer shrunk considerably but much like you holding steady and no complete response. Had to stop due to effects on my liver. As for the insomnia--I must agree, it does seem to linger, and from your message it may hang around for a while. I wish you all the best and keep the faith, I am sure there is a logical answer for all this in God's eye.

Respects,

Bob

If you join the email support list Kidney-Onc (see http://cancerguide.org/kofaq/  ), you will find others who have had immunotherapy.
