coloscopy bag

I have a friend that has a coloscopy bag and she is wondering if there is any special waterproof bags that can be purchased to put over the coloscopy bag while taking a shower. If anyone has another source other than a trash bag and tape would love to hear from you. She still works so it's very hard for her to do this routine before work every morning.

Annie, I'm trying to see where you posted this message...I don't see it on the colon cancer message board.  I would suggest posting it specifically on that forum as there are a number of people who have colostomy bags  and would be able to give you some information.  My Dad has one but I don't know the specifics on what he has to do when he showers.  You can also tell your friend to ask questions at her medical supplies store (where she buys the supplies for her colostomy bag).  There are nurses (I believe they're called Ostomy nurses) that are highly trained in all of this and they will not only tell her about different products but also show her how to put them on, change them etc.  Hope this helps.  Oh and if you do internet research make sure you note that it's "colostomy bag" not coloscopy bag.  Take care!
